Small Battery Technology Since there are many pages on the internet regarding battery technology, this will be a short page. It's a very smart thing to consider the battery type before you buy an electronic device. Example, I favor AA powered devices over those using the expensive and harder to find 9 volt batteries. Of course there are others even more difficult to find, like the miniature 12 volt. But here's what you may not know. There are better designed devices that will allow several battery technologies to be used, Example my camera allows me to use AA alkaline, Nickel Metal, and Oxyride, the flexibility could cause you to choose such a camera over another that may have slightly better resolution, optics, etc. But here's the interesting part. The rechargeable Nickel Metal Hydrates give us a good return on investment >if< we buy them right. I recently went into Radio Shack and looked at their NMH batteries and found the batteries were twice the money and stored about three quarters the energy of NMH batteries I found at Wall Mart. The better batteries seem to advertise the MA hours they will deliver, no mention of that on the battery or it's package? You might investigate further.
