Adapter plate sold out, make your own
Above picture is shown with a less desirable filter head, this one stands off too far from the plate and can interfere with the flywheel on >some< engines. The Sea Sense Unit I recommend will not accommodate a fat screw on element, but it will clear every flywheel I've seen so far. If you are not familiar with the standard three bolt adapter head, and you can not source it on your own, please don't email me about a source, there are all too many places to start looking that are better than I am.. Sea Sense (see link below) listed a good many outlets for their product the day I posted this page, and a simple google search using 'sea sense fuel filter' brought it right up for me. It makes no sense to stock stuff here you can get elsewhere cheaper! Remember this mount is common, even NAPA has a filter head for screw on fuel filters, but not as good or cool as this sea Sense unit (MHO). Here's the utterpower adapter plate that supports a common western three bolt 'screw on' filter mount. The adapter plate is designed to bolt to the side of a standard Lister Type cylinder like the PS 6/1. This spin on filter adapter can be found at NAPA, and elsewhere, one of the best and cheapest I have found is manufactured by SEA SENSE, http://seasense.com, try their website for a large list of suppliers. When you're done, you have standard fittings and dry fuel lines. The poly boat tanks come with built in fuel gauge, and quick disconnects and other fittings are in this marine section. The adapter and the custom banjo are parts usually stocked by utterpower, but you'll be smart to ask if they are in stock. |
